Precision Built. Experience Backed.

Georgia-based precision components and custom muzzleloader builds — operated directly by John and Rachel Nagel.

Our story

Built by Shooters. Run by Owners.

JRC Guns is operated by Nagel Precision Repairs LLC DBA JRC, based in Georgia. We are an online business — we do not operate a retail storefront.

Nagel Precision Repairs LLC was founded in October 2020. In 2026, John and Rachel Nagel launched JRC Guns as the company's online firearms-components and custom muzzleloader business — bringing John's machining and shooting experience together with Rachel's administration and customer service. John and Rachel run every aspect of the business together — from product design and machining to order fulfillment and customer support. When you contact JRC, you reach an owner.

The builder

John Nagel

Gunsmith, Machinist & Product Developer

John brings more than 20 years of experience developing and building GLOCK-compatible competition firearms. His background spans precision machining in both the firearms and steam-turbine manufacturing industries, and he has worked directly with firearms manufacturers as a test shooter and engineering-support contractor.

John is a USPSA and SCSA Grand Master with extensive competitive shooting experience across multiple disciplines. That background directly informs every product JRC designs and manufactures — from GLOCK-compatible frame weights and competition accessories to custom muzzleloader builds.

He designs, machines, and inspects JRC's precision components in-house, and personally builds each custom muzzleloader to the customer's specifications.

The work

Why Customers Choose JRC

  • Designed from real experience

Every JRC product is developed by a USPSA Grand Master and precision machinist with 20+ years in competition firearms. The specs come from the range, not a catalog.

  • Precision manufacturing and inspection

Components are machined and inspected in-house. JRC does not resell generic parts under a house brand.

  • Direct access to the owners

Questions before a purchase, issues after — you reach John or Rachel, not a support ticket queue.

  • Personal service on every order

Small-batch production means JRC can stand behind every item shipped.

Only accurate rifles

Many of us have heard that saying. That phrase may be further accented with the words matter or count; only these have any merit.

I have been shooting accurate rifles all of my shooting life. I stay in a mindset of demanding quarter-MOA or better from any rifle I shoot. I began a journey 12 years ago, falling in love with muzzleloading.

Once I started to learn smokeless muzzleloading and realized the accuracy available to those willing to embrace this style of rifle, I became addicted.

I have always been involved with the build process of any rifle, whether doing my own work or having a rifle put together. Through that experience, I came to value the expertise of master gun builders, especially those who are open to new ideas and who think outside the box.

Muzzleloading, in some sense, has never developed to its full potential. Many who love and practice it at the same time limit new design and innovation. Anyone who shoots and appreciates an accurate rifle must recognize all of the improvements made in centerfire rifles — new calibers, new bullets, new powders, and more.

John Nagel has helped me step into a whole new world of potential: in accuracy, in economics, and in enjoyment. Did I mention accuracy?

The two .30-caliber rifles that John put together for me — well, let's just say they outshoot any centerfire rifle I have ever shot. I am very excited about the sub-bores he is presenting to the American muzzleloading community.

I recommend his work, his advice, and his vision. There are not many people I can say that about today.

I'm looking forward to what he and others are doing to advance the future of muzzleloading.

CVA Paramount prototype build

This is a prototype build on a CVA Paramount action, #17 contour Brux .300/.308 barrel finished at 26" & topped off with a Fury PRS 5 port comp. muzzlebrake.

Factory trigger set down to 1.5lbs.

It has a one-off powder chamber based on 300WSM case, designed just for this build. Ballistic capabilities range from 30/06–300WSM with light to mid weight bullets.

Hankins HIS breech plug, ASG bolt nose, on a MDT XRS Chassis stock, Arken EP5 Gen II 7-35x56 scope on a EGW 20moa rail.

Custom load thru funnel & bullet starter. The finished weight is 16lb 4oz.

  • 125g bullets at just under 3400fps
  • 150g bullets between 3050–3150fps

Accuracy is match grade level (when the shooter does his part). My bench rest shooting skill level truly does not do this gun justice.

These are 200yd test groups shot while doing load development.

"Ordered a muzzle brake for my Ruger American Gen 2 in .308. The factory brake shot ok, but not great — this gun is most accurate with 168–175 gr bullets. The new Fury muzzle brake cut the recoil down to a much more enjoyable shooting experience with these grain bullets. Accuracy improved from a 2-inch group down to a 1-inch group using the same factory loads.

I then ordered an MDT stock from John and the group went to a ½-inch group using the same factory loads — with the combination of the new brake and stock. It's also a very comfortable gun to shoot now with the brake switched out."
